AllerEase Platinum Zip-Off Top Waterproof Mattress Protector Twin

Our review of the AllerEase Platinum Zip-Off Top Waterproof Mattress Protector finds it best suited for sleepers who want a full encasement with a convenient removable top and reliable mattress defense. The single biggest reason to buy is the 360 degree zipper that allows the plush knit top to be removed quickly for washing while the base stays anchored, making late-night changes and routine cleaning markedly easier than with standard fitted protectors. Comfort, waterproofing and allergen protection are the core strengths tested here.

Key Features

• 360 degree zipper: The all-around zipper lets the top section be unzipped and removed for simple installation and separate washing without fully stripping the mattress.
• Luxurious plush top: A deluxe circular knit fabric provides a soft, quiet sleeping surface that feels more like a sheet than a plastic cover.
• Temperature balancing: The knit top wicks moisture when warm and provides modest insulation when cool, helping regulate comfort through the night.
• Waterproof protection: A discrete waterproof backing shields the mattress from spills and stains while remaining quiet under sheets.
• Bed bug barrier: Zippered closure and reinforced seams block bed bugs from penetrating the mattress and collecting inside.

Who It's For

This protector is ideal for allergy sufferers, parents, and anyone who wants a mattress encasement with easy maintenance and a comfortable sleeping surface; the removable top is especially useful for households that need frequent washing. It also suits people who want full perimeter protection, including a bed bug barrier and waterproof layer, without a plasticky feel.

Shoppers with very thick or unusually profiled mattresses should check fit, since customer feedback on fit is mixed and a few users noted better results on thinner mattresses. If maximum tear resistance is a top priority, those concerned about long-term rip resistance may want to compare construction details across heavy-duty encasements.
