Hudson Shag Area Rug 10 ft x 14 ft - Plush Ivory & Grey Trellis

In this review of the Hudson Shag area rug the bottom line is straightforward: this 10 ft x 14 ft ivory and grey rug is best for homeowners seeking a plush, contemporary rug that reads expensive without complex care. The reviewer found the primary reason to buy is its 2-in thick pile, which transforms hardwood or tiled rooms into cozy, cushioned living space while the neutral diamond trellis keeps the look versatile. Constructed from enhanced polypropylene and power-loomed for a virtually non-shedding finish, it balances softness with practicality.

Key Features

• 2-in pile height: Provides a notably plush, cushioned underfoot feel that softens hard floors and improves comfort in living rooms and bedrooms.
• Non-shedding construction: Machine-woven from enhanced synthetic fibers so regular vacuuming keeps it looking tidy without constant fiber loss.
• Modern trellis design: A subtle diamond motif in ivory and grey integrates easily with neutral or layered color palettes without overwhelming a room.
• Easy maintenance: Routine vacuuming (avoid a beater bar) and gentle blotting of minor stains keeps the rug presentable with minimal effort.
• Durable materials: Power-loomed polypropylene stands up to high traffic areas while retaining softness and pile density over time.

Who It's For

This rug is ideal for families and individuals who want a comfortable, cozy floor covering in large rooms such as living rooms, master bedrooms, or open plan spaces. The deep pile and neutral colorway make it particularly well suited for homes with hardwood or tile where added warmth and sound dampening are desired.

Those who need a low-profile, ultra-easy-clean rug for heavy soiling or households with frequent spills should consider a shorter pile; the shag profile requires slightly more attention to deep cleaning. It is also less appropriate where furniture with small feet will indent the 2-in pile long term without a pad.

Pros & Cons

Pros

• Very soft, plush texture that customers consistently praise for comfort and looks.
• Thick 2-in construction provides cushioning and a luxurious feel underfoot.
• Neutral ivory and grey trellis design blends with many decor styles and room types.
• Machine-woven polypropylene offers durability and a virtually non-shedding surface for easier upkeep.

Cons

• Deep pile can trap debris and may require more effort to clean thoroughly; experiences with vacuuming are mixed.
• Heavier shag rugs may show furniture indentations without a proper rug pad.
