SAFAVIEH Tulum 5 ft Round Rug - Moroccan Boho Distressed Style

In this review of the SAFAVIEH Tulum 5 ft round rug, the bottom line is simple: it is a sturdy, stylish choice for busy rooms that need a low-maintenance floorcovering. The rug's heaviest selling point is its substantial & robust construction, offering noticeably more material by weight than many peers, which translates to a durable feel and comfortable underfoot for everyday use. Reviewers will appreciate that it blends a trendy Moroccan-southwestern pattern with practical fibers that resist shedding and spills.

Key Features

• Heavyweight construction: The rug uses up to three times more material by weight than comparable options, improving longevity and a cushioned feel underfoot.
• Non-shedding fibers: Machine-woven polypropylene delivers a virtually non-shedding pile that helps keep floors and vacuum bags cleaner in high-traffic areas.
• Stain resistant: Enhanced synthetic fibers shed spills and are easy to spot clean, making maintenance straightforward for busy households.
• Kid and pet friendly: Designed to stand up to everyday messes and activity from children and pets while remaining safe for indoor use.
• On-trend design: A Moroccan boho distressed pattern in ivory and grey adds contemporary flair that integrates with living rooms, bedrooms, nurseries, and entryways.
• Trusted maker: From a long-established rug brand based in New York, the product reflects a history of interior design and craftsmanship.

Who It's For

The Tulum 5 ft round rug is best for households seeking an attractive, low-maintenance rug for medium to high-traffic spaces such as living rooms, entryways, or family rooms. Its heavier construction and non-shedding polypropylene make it a practical pick for families with kids or pets who need a resilient surface that still reads as stylish.

Shoppers who want a very plush, natural-fiber rug or who prioritize an ultra-thin profile for under furniture might want to look elsewhere; the added weight and pile are intended for durability and comfort rather than minimal thickness or natural materials.

Pros & Cons

Pros

• Durable, heavyweight build provides a substantial, comfortable feel and better wear resistance.
• Virtually non-shedding polypropylene pile reduces maintenance and keeps vacuuming easier.
• Stain resistant fibers and easy-care construction suit busy households and pet owners.
• Neutral ivory and grey Moroccan pattern updates room decor without overpowering it.

Cons

• Some customers report mixed lay-flat results; the rug may require time or a rug pad to fully flatten in high-traffic spots.
• For buyers seeking natural fibers or very low pile, polypropylene may feel less luxurious than wool.
