Top Down Bottom Up Cordless Cellular Shades 39 in x 82 in - Easy No

In this review the BERISSA Top Down Bottom Up Cordless Cellular Shades are evaluated for renters, families, and anyone wanting true blackout and simple installation. The single biggest reason to buy is the dual-mode cordless design combined with a no-drill tension bracket system that installs without damaging the window frame, delivering both light control and privacy in one shade. The review focuses on real-world fit, installation time, and how well the honeycomb black-out fabric blocks light and reduces heat.

Key Features

• Dual-Mode Operation: The top down bottom up design lets natural light in from the top while maintaining privacy below, useful in living areas and entryways.
• No Drill Installation: The dual-tension lateral brackets anchor to frames without drilling so the shades are removable and ideal for rentals or temporary installs.
• Cordless Safety: A smooth cordless pull-down mechanism provides child-safe operation and a clean look that avoids exposed cords.
• Blackout Honeycomb Fabric: The cellular core blocks light fully when lowered and adds noise diffusion for quieter rooms and better sleep.
• Energy Saving Structure: The honeycomb cells create insulating air pockets that help keep rooms warmer in winter and cooler in summer.
• Compact, Stable Fit: Customers report a snug fit in tall, narrow windows and consistent stability once mounted with the included hardware.

Who It's For

These shades suit renters, parents, and anyone who wants strong privacy and blackout performance without modifying frames. The noninvasive dual-tension system and removable brackets make them especially attractive for apartments, dorms, and furnished rentals where drilling is not an option.

People who need motorized operation, extremely custom sizes beyond the available dimensions, or very decorative fabric options should consider other products. Also, if a full-frame blackout is required in unusually irregular openings, a custom installation may be preferable.

Pros & Cons

Pros

• Easy 1-3 minute self-install with no tools reported by users, making setup quick and painless.
• Excellent light blocking and reduced heat gain thanks to the lab-tested honeycomb blackout core.
• Child-safe cordless design and clean aesthetic that blends with most decor.
• Removable brackets leave little to no residue, making them rental-safe and simple to reposition.

Cons

• Limited to the listed size options, so exact nonstandard window sizes may require trimming or a different product.
• The tension bracket system depends on a relatively solid frame edge for best stability; extremely fragile or rounded edges may be less secure.
